Fælled is an interactive pocket book that guides you through Amager Fælled, a local natural area in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The book offers a mix of documentation and visual explorations of plants you may encounter in the area.
Throughout the book you encounter poetry and factual texts, along with practical exercises intended to deepen your experience as you walk through the landscape.
You are presented with field observation pages and reflection sections, inviting you to record your own thoughts and discoveries as a reader and explorer on your journey.
The book is narrated through three main chapters: What can we find, Why are we drawn, and how do we interact?
My Work:

This layered structure is intended to signify that our experience with nature has more layers we must explore to truly understand and interact with it. You must go beyond the facade and dig in to see what is behind.
Why are we drawn to nature?
Visual identity inspired by nature.

The color palette of the cover is created from images taken in Amager fælled and the colors throughout the book is a mix of green or brown which are the dominating colors in the actual area.
On white pages with text there is a brown shadow pattern behind the text. This is created from images taken of the treetops seen from from below. It is made into a simpel kontrast that gives the reader a feeling of shadows and light coming through the trees wherever you are reading, in the field or at home.
The graphics printed on bright green transparent paper are patterns and illustrations created out from focused images of elements in Amager fælled and is representing the natural layer which you have to move through to see what is behind and truly explore it.
